Mobility is one of the most important considerations for businesses adopting unified communications solutions, it has been claimed. New figures from Nemertes Research have shown that telecommuting is on the increase and that businesses are willing to spend more on mobility in the workplace.
Nemertes Research, which conducted an in-depth workplace mobility study, has claimed that the trend is likely to continue. The firm?s Irwin Lazar, vice-president and service director, said: ?Mobility is a key consideration for any unified communications strategy, and the demand for mobile video is rapidly growing as well.?
Mr Lazar noted that when it comes to implementation, however, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring the successful integration of voice, video and content sharing tools. His comments were echoed by Roberto Giamagli, general manager for Radvision?s video business unit, which specialises in interoperability solutions for business mobile users.
Cisco, a leader in video conferencing and online collaboration, recently announced that it was set on bolstering its video conferencing solutions? scalability by integrating social tools into its core business offering.
