?Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA hosted an award ceremony to award members of staff who have recently completed the internationally recognized Fundamentals Of Risk Management (FORM) course from the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and those who have successfully rolled out the training programme within their divisions and department. The training was managed by the Enterprise Risk Management Department of DEWA?s Strategy & Business Development Division.

The members of staff were presented with their diplomas by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. The ceremony was attended by Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support, and Ali Al Muwaijei, Senior Specialist for Corporate Risk Management, in addition to departmental heads.

?In line with the vision of the Government of Dubai to build a sustainable future for the Emirate of Dubai by identifying and working to minimize potential risks, to ensure that we deliver the highest levels of Availability, Reliability and Efficiency to achieve our vision to be a sustainable world-class utility, DEWA has organised this training programme that falls within our objectives aimed at supporting risk champions who represent all departments and divisions of DEWA. Working with internationally-recognized organizations such as the Institute of Risk Management demonstrates the importance of effective partnerships in achieving this goal,? said Al Tayer.

?A complete enterprise risk management means more than insuring against fire, natural phenomenon or other hazards. Companies commonly have many uninsured exposures to loss from tougher competition, rapid technological change, and financial instability. That is why DEWA recognizes its importance, and fully support the implementation of enterprise risk management.? said Salman
