In an article on KevinMD.com, Dr. Kelly Wright asks readers why everyone isn?t quite as excited about robot-assisted surgery as one might think they should be, given the plethora of information about the increasing use of robots in many known forms of surgery ? prostate cancer included.
We aren?t going to ruin the fun by paraphrasing Dr. Wright?s informative article. We suggest you just go and read it for yourself. And remember while you are doing so that many of the very best specialists in the surgical treatment of prostate cancer still do not use a robot to carry out a radical prostatectomy ? even though they may do the procedure laparoscopically.
