Today sees the release of this summer?s next major action spectacle, Battleship. The film is a big screen adaptation of Hasbro?s popular board game, directed by Peter Berg (Hancock, Friday Night Lights), and featuring a cast that includes Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, and pop star Rihanna in her first movie role.
Also on board Battleship?s crew were a group of 14 Full Sail graduates, who worked important roles throughout its development. Nearly half of these grads were on set in positions like production assistant, electrician, and dolly grip, while the remaining group contributed to the film?s postproduction ? handling everything from the music editing to the inspired visual effects.
Speaking about his experience on the project, Film grad Jesani Drew explained ?You wonder how they can make a movie out of a board game, but I think this will surprise people. I had a great experience being there watching it all come together, and I?m excited to see how the final version looks with all the effects.?
