Today I want to introduce you to another great shelter that understands that cerebellar hypoplasia cats deserve a chance at life.

Check out Austin Pets Alive, a shelter in Texas that currently has three CH kittens up for adoption. And as you read their?blog post about the kittens, you can tell they get it:

This is exactly the mentality and understanding we need to help spread. In the scheme of things, cerebellar hypoplasia truly is a minor issue that should not be a death sentence. Instead, with a little extra care and work, these cats can be some of the most endearing companions. So thanks to APA for rescuing these special little cats!

First meet Cricket, above. This little girl, who was born in March, sounds like the ideal kitten. She loves to see people so much that she?ll meow at you when you walk into the room. It sounds like she has the perfect balance of wanting to cuddle and wanting to play.
Tinker
She?s currently in a foster home with several dogs that she likes to play with, which is a major plus if you have any canines at home.
And here?s Tinker. This little one is quite the sweetie pie who loves to ?cuddle, apparently! He was originally found outside by someone who was doing some weedwacking. Sadly, Tinker had a few cuts on his legs, but they?ve all healed.
Tinker was raised as a ?bottle baby,? so he?s been around people all of his life and absolutely loves them. He?s very social and playful ? he loves to play with his three brothers.
Jasper
Lastly, meet Jasper. He?s from a Siamese litter and will most likely be a flame point. Jasper?s CH causes him to shake nearly all the time, but that should improve a bit as he grows older.
Like Tinker, Jasper was raised as a bottle baby, and he can use the litter box all by himself. He?s a bit messier than the other CH kitties above, but at two months old, that?s rather common, especially for any kitten!
According to the website, all APA foster kittens/cats are litter box trained, tested for FeLV/FIV, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for worms/fleas, microchipped and come with a 30-day health insurance plan.
