Mitre 10 Dream Home is returning to our screens next year and a deserving young lesbian couple needs your vote to be in the running.
The series will be based in Kaiapoi just outside of Christchurch, with two couples taking on the challenge of renovating a house room by room. For the first time ever the public will decide who will take on the challenge, with voting between six couples opening today.
Lesbian couple Amanda Fail and Jay Blair, who have been together for two and a half years, are hoping that they will be one of those lucky couples going through to the competition. Describing themselves as ?entertaining, spontaneous and passionate,? the ladies are ?looking forward to bringing a completely different angle to the show and are guaranteed to provide great entertainment, fun, laughs and crazy times.?
The couple say they are very family orientated, hoping to create a family home to share with Amanda?s three gorgeous children, Josh, Bailey and Summer.
Veteran television and radio personality Simon Barnett will be hosting the show and is delighted to be a part of the action. ?The fact that Mitre 10 and TVNZ have chosen to give away a home to a Canterbury family who has experienced such an emotional upheaval only added to my desire to be involved.
?This particular season of Mitre 10 Dream Home will not only be about building with bricks and mortar but building into the lives of a family that has suffered a huge emotional toll in the last 24 months. I am enormously excited about being involved as this series will tell a story of rebuilding ? not just building a house but a home, and all that encompasses,? Simon adds.
You can vote for the ladies here!
Voting closes November 9.
